A Brief history of Doncaster Budgerigar Society

1982 - The society held it's 1st open show , this included the foreign bird section . Subscriptions to the society were set at £4.

1984 - The open show became just budgerigars only after the foreign bird section was dropped .

1989 - The open show was moved to Don Valley High School after outgrowing the Bentley Pavilion , after attracting regular entries of over 1000 birds .

1993 - The Doncaster BS open show attracted 1014 budgerigars .

2001 - Subscriptions of the society were now set at £8 .

2006 - The society moved to it's current meeting location at The Parklands Sports & Social Club . The open show was also moved to the same venue .
